Safety is Our Priority:
At Chatmf, we design features to keep you in control of your chat experience. Because interactions are anonymous, staying safe depends on understanding best practices and utilizing the privacy controls built directly into our chat system.
1. Essential Safety Tips for Anonymous Chatting
When chatting with strangers, follow these gold rules to protect your personal identity and real-world safety:
- Do Not Share Personal Data: Never give out your real name, phone number, physical address, email, or school information.
- Keep Social Profiles Private: Avoid linking your Instagram, Snapchat, Facebook, or other social handles during initial matches.
- Beware of Financial Scams: Never send money, cryptocurrency, or gift card codes to anyone you meet online, regardless of their story.
- Do Not Click Unverified Links: Users sending external links may be attempting to grab your IP address or direct you to malicious sites.
2. Using Chatmf’s Moderation Tools
We provide tools to let you instantly end or block bad matches. Be sure to use them:
- The Skip Button: If a matching partner makes you feel uncomfortable, press the Skip / Next button to disconnect immediately and find a new partner.
- Block User: Inside private messaging, click the **Block** option next to their username to prevent them from contacting you again.
- Report Misconduct: Use the Report feature to flag accounts that violate our terms (spam, harassment, or explicit material). Flagged accounts are reviewed by moderators and banned if necessary.
3. Age Requirements & Rules of Conduct
Chatmf is strictly for users **18 years of age or older**. We enforce zero-tolerance policies against:
- Hate speech, racism, threats, and harassment.
- Underage profiles or child exploitation material (will lead to immediate reporting to NCMEC and police).
- Commercial advertisements, span bots, or link farming.
